Jungian RPG Class: Wizard (NT)

Wizard Path

Wizards approach magic not merely as a tool, but as a discipline shaped by intellect and the unseen forces of the world. Through intense study, theoretical mastery, and mystical perception, they unlock powers beyond mortal understanding.

Yet such knowledge comes at a cost.

While their minds may rival the gods, their bodies remain vulnerable. Wizards wield incredible arcane power, but are physically fragile, relying on wards, foresight, and swift elimination of threats to survive. A single blade or arrow, if left unchecked, may bring down even the most brilliant arcanist.

Thus, the wizard’s path is one of risk and reward: power unrivaled, balanced on the edge of mortality.

Primary attribute is Intellect which affects mana, damage and vision range which generally translates but not limited to being a ranged offensive role.

Resource: Mana

Mana is the source of all magical power — a metaphysical current that sustains, alters, and resists the world’s magical laws. Much like electricity in the material realm, mana is unseen but ever-present, flowing through all things, powering both subtle incantations and world-shattering spells. This affects mana regeneration, capacity and management.

Two philosophical traditions define how a wizard understands and manipulates mana:

Erudition (NT-Introversion) – “To hold back is not weakness, but mastery.”

Erudition emphasize mastery over supremacy. They conserve mana, casting spells with calculated restraint and purpose. These wizards often prefer minimal, elegant solutions — a single perfect spell over a dozen wasteful incantations. Academic Magic: Arcane gain increased damage and Transcendent Magic: Theurgy gain increased proc chances per mana remaining.

Proficiency (NT-Extraversion) – “Magic is limitless. So too is our will.”

Proficiency embraces expansion and power of magic. Mana is meant to be used freely, even recklessly. Their spells are wide-reaching, potent, and often overwhelming. Academic Magic: Elemental gain increased damage and Transcendent Magic: Sorcery gain increased proc chances per mana spent.

Power: Academic Magic (Intellectual, scholarly approach to magic)

Study. Structure. Control. To the Academic, magic is a system of principles that can be observed, analyzed, and mastered. They see spells as formulas — predictable, adaptable, and open to refinement. Academic Magic deepens a wizard’s grasp of spell interactions, efficiency, and raw power. Its use can enhance magical damage and reduce mana costs. There are two primary schools of Academic Magic:

Arcane (NT-Ti) – “All magic is unified in origin — a perfect form waiting to be understood.” These wizards pursue the core essence of magic, believing all spells are manifestations of a singular force. Their magic is precise, compact, and deadly — focused on eliminating single enemies with surgical accuracy.

            • Arcane Mastery - Single-target damage magical attack power and expanded skill tree options. Reduces mana cost of all arcane spells.
            • Magical Precision - Precise magical combos will trigger your magical attacks to deal piercing damage on the target.

Elemental (NT-Te) – “Magic is fire, wind, and stone — the world reborn through will.” Elemental wizards refine magic into pragmatic forces like fire, water, air, and earth. They manipulate combinations of energy and matter, overwhelming enemies with raw, destructive elemental power.
            • Elemental Mastery - Area-of-effect magical attack power and expanded skill tree options. Reduces mana cost of all elemental spells.
            • Domain Control - Increases damage and area-of-effect depending on the number of enemies affected

Feats: Transcendent Magic (Noetical, intuitive approach to magic)

To the Transcendent, magic cannot just be about dissection or rational discourse. It must be experienced. These wizards seek a mystical bond with mana, gaining insight through dreams, visions, and even childlike wonder. Transcendent magic flows fluidly, unpredictably, and is inherently experiential. Its nature can alter casting speed and grant a chance to ignore mana costs. There are two ways to channel and wield Transcendent magic:

Causality (NT-Ni) – “Magic flows through us like rivers to the sea. Causality sense the currents of arcane energy — how it spreads, endures, and connects all things. Their spells favor delayed effects, lingering enchantments, and continuous streams of power.”

              • Farsighted - Dealing magical damage has a chance to extend magical status duration.
              • Corrosive Magic - Transforms your magical attacks into damage overtime effects. Additionally, your magical status effects can stack infinitely each time you reapply the same status effect on enemies. This is affected by Farsighted.

Sorcery (NT-Ne) – “Catch it if you can. Sorcery wield magic unpredictably, twisting mana in chaotic, explosive bursts. Their spells are wild, immediate, and multidimensional — cast from instinct rather than reason, always staying a step ahead of their foes.”
              • Expansive Mind - You can collect magical spells from the environment. These abilities can be only used once and will be removed from your collected magical spell slot upon use.
              • Kaboom! - transforms your magical attacks into burst damage. Additionally, your magical attacks can be casted simultaneously.
